Float and Set work requires a base coat of plaster, or sand and cement with a skim coat on top to finish, ready for decoration. This method allows for a clean straight finish and can also be used for patch work and the repairing of cracks.
Skimming provides a top coat of plaster that is polished evenly to provide a clean finish ready for decoration. Wall preparation includes joint reinforcement of plasterboards or PVA sealer to existing walls. A skim coat will give old walls and ceilings a new look, allowing for decoration opportunities.
